The Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta at River Legacy challenges amateur boat builders – youth and adult – to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of corrugated cardboard. Due to current events, they canceled their annual event. The spirit of their boat race rages on through these harsh times however, and we here at Harris Packaging decided to make a video in honor of our long standing tradition of sponsoring and competing in the boat races. As part of its new MAVS 100 program, The University of Texas at Arlington recently recognized the 100 fastest-growing Maverick businesses, highlighting the success stories in UTA entrepreneurship. We were excited to be at the MAVS 100 event, and even more excited that we had two companies in the top 20! Harris Packaging ranked #17 and American Carton ranked #19. The resulting event revealed the top 30 businesses, ranked by average revenue from their last three years. On a brisk Saturday morning in January, employees from ACC and HPC joined together at the Mansfield Run with Heart 2020 event. With American Carton Company as an annual sponsor, both ACC and HPC encourage health awareness and exercise. Proceeds from the race will go toward helping support cardiology services at the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, where the event is held, as well as sustaining our Heart of the Community Program. It is a program that helps improve the cardiovascular health of the communities we serve through heart disease education, prevention and encouraging a heart healthy lifestyle. A portion will also go to the Tarrant County American Heart Association. Join us next year for a great run! Choose from a chip-timed half marathon and 5k run, or one mile fun run/walk. It was University of Texas – Arlington (UTA) Night at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, Tuesday September 19. UTA Alumni and AICC Education Sub-Committee Chair Jana Harris, President of Harris Packaging, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Texas Rangers played the Tampa Bay Rays. Per Jana the pitch was “high and right”. She reports that there was a good turnout to meet the President of UTA, Vistasp Karbhari, and to learn more about getting involved in the packaging program at UTA. See article here.
